Coach Scott Smith graduated from Plano Senior High School. He graduated from Baylor University and completed graduate school at Texas A&M Commerce. He has coached for 25 years at Plano, Allen, and Lake Highlands prior to coming to Plano West. He is married to his wife Chrissy, and they have two children, Chandler Grace and Brock. Interests include watching high school and college football, and NASCAR.
Coach Russell Urbantke is coming to Plano West with 14 years of coaching experience. He is a graduate of Riesel High School and holds a B.S. in Education from Baylor University. Prior to Plano West he was the Assistant Head Coach at Lake Highlands High School, won a State Championship at Mart High School in 2006 and began his coaching career at Lorena High School in 2001. Coach Urbantke is married to his wife, Lisa, and they have two children, Brynlee (10) and Avery (5). Interests include playing golf, fishing and spending time with his family.
Coach Fulbright is in his first year coaching Quarterbacks at Plano West, and 28th year of coaching football in Texas. He spent most of his career as Offensive Coordinator at Midway High School in Waco, but was also Head Coach/Athletic Coordinator at Angleton and Montgomery High Schools. Coach Fulbright has most recently been coaching in the DFW area at Highland Park, Cleburne, and Timber Creek high schools. Coach Fulbright and his wife, Ande, have two children, McKenna (10) and Cal (6). Interests include running, biking, skiing, golfing and playing with his kids.
Coach Hall is coming to Plano West with 12 years of coaching experience. Coach Hall is a graduate of Plano Senior High School and holds a B.S. from Texas Christian University. Coach Hall has served as an assistant coach at Lake Highlands and Highland Park, and Defensive Coordinator at McKinney High School and Odessa Permian. Coach Hall is married to his wife, Ashley, and they have three children, Anna Lou (7), Graham (5), and Boone (3). Interests include watching his kids play sports, serving in his church and spending time with family and friends.
Coach Hughes has coached for 8 years. Graduated from Plano West High School and Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. He teaches at Mitchell Elementary. Other interests include golfing, fishing, hunting and spending time with his wife, Jenny, and children Wyatt and Harper.
Coach Lowrance is in his 18th year of coaching. He graduated from Temple High School and Sam Houston State University, and also received his Master’s Degree from Sam Houston State. Coach Lowrance is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and also teaches PE at Daffron Elementary School. He enjoys spending time with his wife Janel and daughter Kynan, and improving his spiritual walk as well.
Coach Tyler has coached in Plano for 9 years. He graduated from Plano Senior High School, and got his college degree from Stephen F. Austin University. He teaches history at Plano West Senior High School. Coach Tyler’s other interests include spending time with his wife Danielle, their son Jacob, and extended family and friends watching sports and playing golf.
Coach Bryant has coached in Plano for 3 years. He graduated from Richardson Berkner High School and received his college degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Interests include playing with his daughter Kennedy (3) and relaxing with his fiancé Stephanie.
Coach Jacobs has coached for 4 years. He graduated from Crawford High School and got his college degree from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. Interests include being active with family and in the church and spending quality time with wife, Rachel and dog Duke. He also enjoys spending time outdoors golfing, fishing and camping.
Courtney Goree has been taking care of sports injuries in Plano West athletics for 13 years. He graduated from Beckville High School and got his Bachelors of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. He received his Masters of Education in 2002. When he is not caring for the Wolfpack, Courtney likes to watch sports, fish, cook, listening to music and singing!
Allen graduated from Plano East high school, and got his Bachelors of Science degree from The University of North Texas in Denton. He received his Masters of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. When he is not helping the Pack, he enjoys mountain biking, hiking, trail running and swimming!
Alan Tapia (Tap) is the Athletic Utility Assistant for the Wolfpack. He graduated from Plano Senior High School, and immediately joined the district. He has been at Plano West for 14 years. When Tap is not up at school, he enjoys watching all sports!
